US President Donald Trump said Friday he discovered Saudi Arabia's clarification about the passing of dissenter writer Jamal Khashoggi dependable and named it a "vital initaial step."
Trump included if the US makes a move, he doesn't need it to affect arms deals to the kingdom, which said Khashoggi was slaughtered in a battle at its Istanbul department. Turkish authorities indicated a state-authorized hit.
"I do, I do," Trump said when inquired as to whether he found the Saudis' clarification sound, including: "It's initial, we haven't completed our audit or examination, however… I believe it's a critical initial step."
